Andrea Nhuch is a multidisciplinary visual artist focusing on sculpture and installation. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, immigrated to the US at age 21 in 1994, lived in NYC and Miami, FL, currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Nhuch studied at the Art Students League in NYC with Bruce Dorfman as her mentor (2008, 2010-2012). She received a Bachelors of Science from Ithaca College (1996) and a Masters in Cosmetics and Fragrance from the Fashion Institute of Technology (2008). Her solo projects include: Embrace, Diorama Project, curated by Locust Projects, Miami for Tilia Venture at the Alfred DuPont Building, Miami, FL (2015) and Superficies, as part of Temporary Contemporary, curated by Bryan Granger at the Bass Museum, Miami Beach, FL (2014). Nhuch participated in various group shows in varied platforms, among them: Fancy Nasty, Build Crew, Miami (2015), NADA with Locust Projects (2013, 2014), Irreversible, site-specific project Art Wynwood Art Fair, Miami (2013), The Miami Lab, Wynwood (2013-2016), the 6th Juried Biennial, Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, Florida (2013), Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, NYC (2011). In addition to her artistic practice Nhuch is engaged in immigration advocacy as part of her political activism.
